image As every semester brings new courses, professors, and challenges, it also brings a refreshed team of resident assistants to each Skaptopara Hall. Starting from the beginning of Fall 2018 semester, 15 carefully selected RAs will help AUBG students and serve as role models in the community. Learn more about the people who will be handing over the vacuum cleaner, giving out the keys to the kitchen, and kindly reminding students that the quiet hours have begun.
Skaptopara I [caption id="attachment_39333" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Irakli Jojua; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Irakli Jojua; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Irakli Jojua is a first-year student from Georgia, majoring in Political Science and International Relations and Economics. What motivated him to become an RA is that he likes to engage with people and also wanted a cost-free room. Jojua's hobbies include hanging out with people and learning new languages. He is part of the Political Science club and the Medieval club. According to him, the word that best describes him is nationalistic. [caption id="attachment_39335" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Fatma Xhafa; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Fatma Xhafa; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Fatma Xhafa is a first-year student from Albania who is planning to major in Computer Science and Business Administration. Xhafa is a Harry Potter fan who loves reading, watching TV series, and dedicating her free time to StartUP@Blagoevgrad. She expects the hardest part of the job to be time management. Xhafa defines good communication skills as her unique trait.
"I decided to join the RA team because I saw how helpful they [the RAs] were," said Xhafa. "The first days I came here I had a very hard time getting oriented and I was constantly asking the RAs for help. They were always happy to help me with a big smile on their faces. What I want to do is basically the same thing - helping others."

His decision rested in the belief that the RA position is the best job on campus and the most challenging one. Musaku likes watching adventure and comedy movies, playing the guitar, and reading books. He is part of the new Production club that was formed in the Spring 2017 semester. He describes himself as a person who has a lot of empathy but is also stubborn. [caption id="attachment_39338" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Diana Radkova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Diana Radkova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Diana Radkova is a first-year student from Bulgaria, majoring in Computer Science and Information Systems. Her hobbies include making handmade jewelry and origami. Calligraphy, graphic design, and cooking are also among her passions. Radkova is a member of StartUP@Blagoevgrad and believes that the features that make her stand out are her positivity and the constant smile on her face.
"I wanted to join the RA team because I really like spending time at the front desk," commented Radkova. "The RAs have to talk with a lot of people, they need to be friendly and that is something I would love to do as well. I expect to gain a lot of experience because I'm not so well-organized and I think this job will help me."
[caption id="attachment_39341" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Desislava Manova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Desislava Manova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Desislava Manova is a first-year student from Bulgaria who considers majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication with minors in Psychology and German. In her free time, Manova enjoys going out with friends and watching TV series such as Desperate Housewives, Brooklyn 99, and Stranger Things. She is a student assistant in the Admissions office and a member of the TEDxAUBG. She points out her club activity as the most exciting experience that has happened to her this year. Manova thinks that the contradicting term "motivated procrastinator" best encapsulates her personality. What is peculiar about her is that she hates pickles and bare feet.
"The RAs were the first people I actually met when I came here and I have always been keen on organizing events," said Manova. "I think the job is going to be both hard and exciting."

Litvinenko likes to spend his free time doing sports, reading or traveling. He is part of AFC Griffins, AT&M club, Polygon club, and Infocus.
"I like the impact RAs have on the AUBG community," said Litvinenko. "I see the RAs as mothers and fathers of the students. I remember being a freshman - whatever problem I had, I would just rush to the RAs. As an RA, I expect to develop my communication skills and problem-solving skills."

Her motivation to become an RA comes from the fact that she wants to be involved in the community and be as active as she used to be during her high school years. Petkova is a producer at Radio AURA and a fan of video games. She also loves playing the guitar and piano. According to her, she is weird and sees everything as either black or white - either everything is good, or everything is bad.
"I expect to meet a lot of new people and become more tolerant towards other people and their problems," explained Petkova. "Probably the hardest part of the job for me will be being on duty and having to listen to the music that is being played in the lobby."
Skaptopara II [caption id="attachment_39348" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Nikola Stanimirov; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Nikola Stanimirov; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Nikola Stanimirov is a second-year student from Bulgaria, studying Computer Science and Information Systems. His passions include coding, watching videos, and running in Bachinovo park. Stanimirov is a member of The Hub and AUBG Olympics. He describes himself as a passionate and honest person who sometimes cares less about himself and more about others.
"When I first came here I saw Mitko [Dimitar Bratovanov] who was that high person walking around shouting and gathering people," said Stanimirov. "The whole idea of being an RA sounded appealing to me. The RA position is your chance to interact with all people no matter their standing."

Kisova loves doing creative activities, swimming, running, and having walks among nature. Currently, she is not part of any club but intends to join the Business club next semester. She defines her distinguishing features as open-mindedness and creativity.
"I think of the RAs as role models for the other students so I really wanted eventually to become an RA," commented Kisova. "Being able to help everyone and knowing all the answers will probably be the hardest part of the job."
[caption id="attachment_39351" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Oraz Kereibayev; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Oraz Kereibayev; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Oraz Kereibayev is a second-year student from Kazakhstan, double-majoring in Political Science and International Relations and Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in European Studies. Kereibayev dedicates his free time to a play in Russian, which will be performed on April 23rd. He also loves watching TV series and interacting with people. Kereibayev is an active member of the AUBG Dance Crew, Infocus, and the Political Science club.
"I explicitly wanted to join the RA team of Skaptopara II, because I love the team there," said Kereibayev. "The atmosphere in the team is really friendly. I expect a lot of fun and a lot of responsibility."

He likes sports, video games, and science-fiction books. Batjargal is part of Infocus and AFC Griffins. According to him, what makes him stand out is his hair and the fact that he is an Asian in Bulgaria
"The RAs seem like a family and I also wanted to be part of that family," said Batyargal. "I'm just so excited about the job!"
Skaptopara III [caption id="attachment_39356" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Kalina Dushkova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Kalina Dushkova; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Kalina Dushkova is a third-year student from Bulgaria, double-majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication and Business Administration. In her free time, Dushkova enjoys reading fantasy books such as  A Song of Ice and Fire and The Lord of the Rings series. She is the vice president of StartUP@Blagoevgrad and describes herself as a considerate person.
 "I expect to grow even more as a person and also to find myself in a couple of uncomfortable situations," commented Dushkova. "The hardest part would be if I have to report a friend."

He dedicates his free time to social activities and clubs. Ilyov is part of the Student Government, TEDxAUBG, and StartUP@Blagoevgrad. His typical features are dedication and fighting for causes he believes in.
"I decided to join the RA team for numerous reasons," said Ilyov. "I believe this is one of the best opportunities to give back to the community. It is a very social position and there is a lot of interacting with new people. I would love to help people and serve as a role model."

Veli enjoys spending time in the gym, going out with friends, and reading books. According to her, the word that describes her best is determined.
"I wasn't very involved in campus life, so I figured I needed to do something," said Veli. "I expect to get to know new people, grow as a person, and learn how to manage my time more effectively."
[caption id="attachment_39362" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Xhonatan Cela; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily Xhonatan Cela; Steliyana Yordanova for AUBG Daily[/caption] Xhonatan Cela is a first-year student from Albania, majoring in Business Administration and Political Science and International Relations. By his account, he does not have much free time, so when he has no immediate commitments he prefers to sleep or go out with his friends. Cela is part of the AFC Griffins, both as a player and a member of the team's Marketing division. He is also a student assistant in the Admissions office and a student ambassador in the Events office. In his words, what makes him stand out is the fact that he always goes with the flow and acts spontaneously.
"I find the RA position as an opportunity to meet more people and to show responsibility," commented Cela. "I love working in a team. I like to challenge myself in order to see how good I can deal with different situations."
