On Wednesday, Dec. 2 AUBG Olympics organized their third sport event for the semester, the Sparta Challenge. Participants competed in power lifting, arm wrestling and tug of war disciplines, and played in teams of three. While all three disciplines are a part of the main Olympics event in the spring, this is the first time the club has organized such a challenge. This raised concerns that not many people will attend the event. "[T]here are hardly any other events connected to [the weightlifting competition], so we came up with the idea for the Sparta Challenge. We wanted something different and catchy," Hristiana Inkyova, the vice-president of the club, said.  In the end, six teams signed up, divided by the organizers in two groups. The first participant of each team competed in power lifting, the second one - in arm wrestling, and all three together participated in tug of war. "I think people were satisfied at the end. We had more [teams] than expected, so we might do it again next year," Inkyova said. Hristo Georgiev, a part of the winning team, said that the event was "interesting." However, it was "chaotic" in terms of organization. According to him, such events have to be organized more often and the organizers should be better facilitators, as the three components of the challenge were happening simultaneously. After two hours of competing, the following teams made it through to the end: First Place - Team "Face Roll": Hristo Georgiev Tornike Mtreveli Dimitar Nedelev Second Place - Team "Fitness": Krum Temelkov Hristiyan Temelkov Third Place - Team "HEC": Lubomir Milanov Valentin Gospodinov Dimitar Karaliiski   Check out the pictures from the event here: Credits to: Dimitar Bratovanov IMG_7104 IMG_7128 IMG_7164 IMG_7173 IMG_7300 IMG_7354 IMG_7371 IMG_7388 IMG_7394 IMG_7399 IMG_7104 - Copy
