Sports attracted major campus attention over the past weekend, as on Friday, April 22, Youth Empowerment Initiative @ AUBG (Yei!) had their annual football match at the Bachinovo soccer grounds. The participants were students from both AUBG and SWU. A number of professors also signed up this year, but unfortunately, none of them managed to attend the event.

Three professors had confirmed their presence but due to some personal reasons they cancelled at the last moment. ”Unfortunately this year, the weather was really bad and up until the last moment, we were considering to cancel the event. But, we decided to go after all because this was the only time available for all, as you know we have finals coming up and the high schools have proms, ” said Dobrinka Denkovska, president of Yei AUBG. She further explained that the possible reason for the small number of participants was because of the other events happening on campus on the same day.

The match took place with many AUBG students playing. After the event all participants, organizers and spectators enjoyed a relaxing picnic and some music at the Bachinovo field, and were rewarded for their efforts with tons of pizza. All enthusiasts seemed to enjoy the event and the game, despite the drizzly day.
