It will be available for purchase on the release date in front of the Dr. Carl Djerassi Theater Hall in ABF Center from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The club plans on selling the book for 5 BGN or more, as well as donating one or two copies to Panitza Library. The marketing team of the AUBG Writer’s Guild works on having the book in the bookstores on campus and in Blagoevgrad as well. In terms of the revenue from the book, the Writer’s Guild considers to assign part of it for self-sustainment and the rest for charity. According to Steven London, the former president of the club and currently a project manager, the members of the club want to cover the books and donate around 60 percent of the profit for a new scholarship fund based on writing. Krum Zahariev, a first-year student and the President of the AUBG Writer's Guild, said that there are teams of editors, designers and salespeople, who aid the writers in perfecting and promoting their stories. According to London and Zahariev, the process of creating a book revolves around the writers of the stories, since “each writer is unique in the process,” as London stated. He learned a lot from the whole process and his biggest struggle was to time inspiration.
Most of the writing I literally did in the last two weeks of the project,” Urdev said.
According to Zahariev, halfway through the project a few of the authors left the project, but that motivated other people in the club to fill the gap in the originally intended length of the book. Sava Stoyanov, a second-year student and head of the marketing team in the club, is responsible for organizing the events and works close with the design team. He believes that the AUBG Writer’s Guild gave him a chance to try something new. However, he wishes to start writing poetry and to help with the design if possible next year.
If you want to do anything with writing, this is the club to be,” Stoyanov said.
Diana Elagina, a second-year student and head of the design team, creates the posters for the events and works on the internal design of the book – font, margins, and pagination - together with her team since the beginning of Fall 2015. She is enthusiastic about the whole project and believes it will be supported more after the first book is published.
We [the AUBG Writer’s Guild] are looking forward to seeing the book release because this is a very dear project to all of us,” Elagina said.
Yelyzaveta Glybchenko, a second-year student and the illustrator of the book cover, was invited to be part of the AUBG Writer’s Guild specifically for the design of the cover at the end of February.
I was very excited to hear that we have such an awesome and creative project and I was more than happy to help,” Glybchenko said.
