Thanksgiving dinner at AUBG became a tradition for students and faculty to get to know each other better and experience the warm and friendly atmosphere of the American national holiday. The event took place in the ABF canteen on Nov. 27 . The Thanksgiving dinner started with a speech by AUBG President Kevin Aspegren who wished everyone present a happy Thanksgiving. His daughter made small cards on each table for everyone who would like to write down what they are thankful for. "I think the idea was right, and the community feeling was there," AUBG exchange student from the Unites States Jesse Raley said. "I liked that president told everyone the point of Thanksgiving, although the food was... interestingly prepared. But turkey was good." The guests enjoyed traditional to Thanksgiving food: turkey with mashed potatoes, green beans with rice, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy, and of course, pumpkin pie for dessert. "The dinner was very nice. Both the food and the decorations were great, and it was obvious that people put a lot of efforts into organizing the event," Borislava Kaneva, a third-year student at AUBG, said. "...One thing that disappointed me was the fact that our table did not have a representative of the faculty (even though only half of the present were students), so we had to improvise in cutting the turkey."
