The dining area of the ABF Student Center became the venue for the second NGO fair in AUBG on Nov. 7. Representatives from 25 regional, national, and international organizations came on campus to connect with students and share their causes. This was an opportunity for students to meet with change-makers, brainstorm ideas, and discuss internship and volunteer opportunities. During the first part, the members of each organization had 2-3 minutes to share their ideas, values, and activities. The second part included networking in the World Café format. The fair was hosted by the Bulgarian language Professor Sabina Wien. Among the NGOs was the Bulgarian-English Speech Tournament Foundation (BEST), which will organize an international speech tournament Balkan Voices in AUBG next March. Teach for Bulgaria is another organization, whose mission is to “recruit, train, and develop young professionals in the field of education.” The Active Bulgarian Society (ABS) representative Kiril Spasov shared that he was glad to attend this event for the second time. According to Spasov, “ABS is the biggest youth organization working with Erasmus+.” [caption id="attachment_39943" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]dsc_2 BEST Foundation present themselves to students; Yoana Misheva for AUBG Daily[/caption] HUB International was presented by The Hub AUBG members Boris Angelov and Nikolay Pohlupkov, both fourth-year students. Pohlupkov said that he wanted to become part of HUB International in order to provide more opportunities for the Hub and also to give back to the university by representing it on a broader range of events. He suggested that the NGO fair should be held in the Carl Djerassi Theater, with the networking part of it outside the Theater.
