If you fall in any of these categories, then make sure to free your Saturday, on April 9, and be at 11:30AM at the Carl Djerassi Theater in America for Bulgaria Student Center. This year’s TEDxAUBG list of speakers includes German comedian Manuel Wolff; Alexander Angelov, experienced Bulgarian manager in diverse business fields; Canan Arin, a lawyer from Turkey, who has been defending women rights for more than 20 years; award-winning Bulgarian photographer Nikolay Pandev; Darko Mandic, one of the youngest CEOs in the world; Bogdan Gogu, a creator of a mentorship platform for high-school students in Romania; Paula Erizanu, an award-winning author from Moldova. Three of the speakers are directly associated with AUBG. This year’s edition of TEDxAUBG has one student speaker Sorin Petrov, a fourth-year AUBG student from Moldova who has experience in public speaking; one faculty member, Milena Nikolova, Assistant Professor at the Business Department at the American University in Bulgaria; and a representative from the alumni community, Maria Oprenova, an AUBG alumna who founded a start-up in entertainment and talent promotion.
“We aimed for diversity in topics, backgrounds, country of origin and age groups: our youngest speaker is only 22 years old and our oldest is above 70, so it will definitely be a memorable event,” TEDxAUBG President, Iva Gabrakova, said.
