TEDxAUBG 2016 Coming Soon
If you are an adventurous music lover with passion for business and photography, who is always ready to defend human rights, then you are a multi-task enthusiast. It is doubtful, however, that one person can embrace all of these passions. This is where TEDxAUBG 2016 comes at your help.
The fifth edition of the independently organised by AUBG student club TEDx event has everything for everybody – jazz for music lovers, business ideas for start-ups, humour for comedy viewers and much more. If you fall in any of these categories, then make sure to free your Saturday, on April 9, and be at 11:30AM at the Carl Djerassi Theater in America for Bulgaria Student Center.
The event comprises of 11 speakers selected on the basis of regional and professional criteria. This year’s TEDxAUBG list of speakers includes German comedian Manuel Wolff; Alexander Angelov, experienced Bulgarian manager in diverse business fields; Canan Arin, a lawyer from Turkey, who has been defending women rights for more than 20 years; award-winning Bulgarian photographer Nikolay Pandev; Darko Mandic, one of the youngest CEOs in the world; Bogdan Gogu, a creator of a mentorship platform for high-school students in Romania; Paula Erizanu, an award-winning author from Moldova.
Three of the speakers are directly associated with AUBG. This year’s edition of TEDxAUBG has one student speaker Sorin Petrov, a fourth-year AUBG student from Moldova who has experience in public speaking; one faculty member, Milena Nikolova, Assistant Professor at the Business Department at the American University in Bulgaria; and a representative from the alumni community, Maria Oprenova, an AUBG alumna who founded a start-up in entertainment and talent promotion.
“We aimed for diversity in topics, backgrounds, country of origin and age groups: our youngest speaker is only 22 years old and our oldest is above 70, so it will definitely be a memorable event,” TEDxAUBG President, Iva Gabrakova, said.
