Meet another group of fourth-year students who have been an irreplaceable part of AUBG Daily. Here is what the owls had to share: [caption id="attachment_36508" align="aligncenter" width="636"]Rumina Miteva. Personal Archive Rumina Mateva. Personal Archive[/caption] This is Rumina Mateva, from Bulgaria. She is majoring in Business Administration and Information Systems. Mateva is a former reporter of AUBG Daily, a former head of producers of Radio AURA, and a former member of Broadway Performance Club and More Honors. Tell us about your best and your worst memory of AUBG. For me the best memories are – the theatre, AURA, Daily, More Honors, The Musical, Skapto I balcony. Those places gave me ‘shelter from the storm’ and confirmed my belief that ‘We’ outgrows ‘I’. The worst memory would be taking Calculus during my very last semester… What were you before? What are you now? As a freshman I was living in Narnia as a friend of mine would suggest. Now I’m balancing between Narnia and the real world. If you were 18 years old, what would you do/what would you change? I would urge myself to be more involved in the things that I consider my best memories and I would also try and ask more questions. What word defines you best? Tessellate. What is the meaning of life to you? Recently I heard the following lines in a play: ‘Man first dies. Then he searches for his death and finally finds it.’ For me the meaning of life is escaping from the coherence of this sentence. You are awesome because… Of the music that I listen to. What is one of your takeaways from AUBG Daily? Daily gave me confidence to ask questions – something that I consider very valuable as a whole. How do you imagine life after AUBG? Well, I don’t imagine it anymore, I’m living in it. Life after AUBG is full of music, theatre, work-related projects, time for reading things that I actually want to read, but I’m still opening doors with cards. What would you say to the current and future owls? Do things that make you proud and that excite you. To the current owls I just want to say – I salute you for the amazing work throughout this academic year! [caption id="attachment_36513" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Sabina Peycheva. Leda Dragieva for AUBG Daily Sabina Peycheva. Leda Dragieva for AUBG Daily[/caption] Sabina Peycheva is a student from Bulgaria majoring in Economics and minoring in Journalism and Mass Communication. She has been a reporter and former editor-in-chief of AUBG Daily. Peycheva is also a student advisor and tutor in Econometrics and Statistics. Tell us about your best and your worst memory of AUBG. If I have to name only one - the day when my best friend and I came up with the brilliant idea to have our own language, so we decided to start changing “r”'s with “d”'s in every word. Everything was going OK until I told her: “GeoDgi PuDvanov PDudna v PaDlamenta” and she replied: “BDeeeey!” We were in class and the professor kindly made us explain in front of everyone why we cannot stop laughing. Worst memory - maybe the graduation of my best friend Tsvetelina (a.k.a. The Little Dictator), who was also a Daily owl. I was so happy for her, but I was like – “Please, fail just one class and stay!” What were you before? What are you now? Before, I was shy, insecure and immature. Now, I am a not so shy, not so insecure, but I doubt that I am more mature. If you were 18 years old, what would you do/what would you change? If I were 18, I would tell myself: “Be more active and join more clubs! Underground doesn’t count for a club!” What word defines you best? Recently, I found the perfect word – “ambivert.” This is a person who combines the qualities of both introverts and extroverts. This is me. I can be both quiet and loud depending on the situation. What is the meaning of life to you? For me, the meaning of life is to be useful and in the end to leave something meaningful. You are awesome because… I am awesome because… I can get drunk from a beer. What is one of your takeaways from AUBG Daily? Don’t get too nervous during an interview, so that to forget to tell Lucia Miree that you are recording her. Kidding, but still, tell people that you are recording them. On a more serious note, I learned that media is something really powerful (even here at AUBG). It is something that, if used in the right way, can really help improving the status quo. How do you imagine life after AUBG? I still can’t imagine it. I have 15 more days as an AUBGer, but I am kind of excited and ready to graduate. So, dear life after AUBG, please don’t disappoint me! What would you say to the current and future owls? Dear current and future owls, stay awesome, or if you prefer – stay OWLsome, but think carefully why you are so awesome, because time flies so fast that very soon someone will make you finish the sentence “You are awesome because” for the Daily Senior Blitz. Enjoy the editorial meetings - don’t get mad at the President for talking so much, because there will be time when you will miss both him and the meetings. Enjoy the team buildings - this is the time when you will have the rare chance to get drunk from the president’s homemade rakia and then to see him dancing kiucheci. Enjoy the stories, the people, enjoy Daily… [caption id="attachment_36514" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Gabriela Georgieva. Leda Dragieva for AUBG Daily Gabriela Georgieva. Leda Dragieva for AUBG Daily[/caption] Last but not least, Gabriela Georgieva, who is also from Bulgaria. She is majoring in Business Administration and Information Systems. She has been a reporter in AUBG Daily, the general manager and a producer of Radio AURA. She has been also involved in theater activities, both as an actor and director. Tell us about your best and your worst memory of AUBG. My best one is probably connected to theatre, all the plays I participated in. My favorite one as an actress is Noises Off which was directed by my friend Ralitsa Tsoneva. The More Honors shows of course are also among my top experiences, as well as Radio AURA's birthday this year. My worst one... This semester. For sure. Senior year is a pain in the ass, the last couple of months were just painful. What were you before? What are you now? The first two years I didn't take part in any club activities. I was a very naive freshman who was just going out and having fun. Now I'm an involved senior, tired, but happy. I'm more fulfilled in comparison to before. If you were 18 years old, what would you do/what would you change? So 12th grade... Honesty, I wouldn't change anything, because I believe that every choice in your life contributes to what you are now and I'm very happy with what I've become. What word defines you best? Fox. What is the meaning of life to you? Probably fulfillment, pursuing your goals, being happy and just do what you love. You are awesome because… Because I am always myself. What is one of your takeaways from AUBG Daily? Daily was an important part of my AUBG experience. I was accepted when Veselina Apostolova was the acting president and before that I have to admit I wasn't that good in writing or talking to people that much. Daily is the first thing I got involved with at AUBG and it taught me to be more organised, to pursue different activities, to be more active and interested in what was happening on campus. I still feel a part of it. How do you imagine life after AUBG? Very different. I hope it would not be that busy, because I'm not constantly struggling with my schedule. I imagine it almost the same, with the only difference that Underground is not gonna be around me and I'm not gonna constantly see my friends, just from time to time. As for myself, I'm just going to continue to do what I like. What would you say to the current and future owls? To the current - guys you rocked this year! Amazing performance, all the articles I saw were just outstanding. For the future ones, you should be part of Daily, because it is something different and has a very good purpose. It is the medium which shows people what is going on at AUBG, what is the current issue. Daily informs objectively, so that the readers can form their own opinion afterwards. It can help everyone to either find themselves, or just be themselves.
