He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and the Asian Institute of Technology and his PhD in Telematics. In 2008 he took the decision to ordain as a Theravada Buddhist monk at the Dhammakaya temple. Soon after, he was invited to become a meditation instructor for Peace Revolution- a free online 42 days self-development program. Peace Revolution was established in 2008 with the main purpose to spread the art of meditation and mindfulness among young people as a method of stress reduction, relaxation and reconnection.
Throughout the sessions, Dhanissaro talked about finding happiness through inner peace and he pointed out meditation as a powerful way to release stress. Monk Dhanissoro described meditation as the state of the mind free of thought. The most common techniques, used to reach this level concern 3 main steps: breathing, mantras and visualization. The session finished with a 30 minute meditation, combining all key aspects. The final note was put when he engaged in a demonstration of a meditation session with the members of the audience. Once it finished, students were able to share their individual experiences and impressions of the effectiveness of the various techniques.
