All of you have probably seen her on the AUBG campus. It is hard not to notice her. In case you guys are still wondering what is the name of this beautiful brunette, meet Laura Rocha, or simply Luna as she prefers to be called. Originally from Louisiana she is on exchange from the Millsaps College in Mississippi. She is a junior, majoring in Communications and History with lots of extracurricular activities on her hands. Back home she sings in the university choir, acts in plays, participates in the Student Government and is also a member of the Student Activities Board. In addition, Luna is keen on writing, drawing and she even plays the piano and guitar. "I like to take up different hobbies... Start something just to see whether I am good at it. I think a lot of people have potential that they don’t even know about because they don't even try."   In terms of clothes, Luna stopped following common trends long ago and has developed her own style. When she shops she looks for unique items and pretty often tries to imagine what her favorite musicians would wear. This particular black laced dress she got from Forever 21, which happens to be one of Luna's favorite shops. "Probably half of my clothes are from there." When she first bought this dress, her mom did not really approve because it would pretty soon go out of style. For Luna, however, being in style is not the most important feature of a garment. "I don’t really care about whether it’s in style or not and when I wear it people compliment me so it’s a really nice dress." Usually Luna just goes for a certain look. She would try almost anything just to see how it looks like on her. She enjoys combining clothes into forming "a classic look then sort of preppy at the same time." These precious purple shoes Luna bought from another favorite shop of hers, H&M. Though she seldom wears high heels she sometimes cannot resist. "I am really bad at walking with high heels. I don’t know whether you noticed how bad I walk with them but when the occasion arises I like to wear them." One of Luna's passions are nail polishes. Though she already has nearly forty different colors and shades, she continues to buy new nail polishes all the time. "When I’m in the nail polish section and I see a color that I don’t have I’ll almost always buy it." It is hard to believe that there are still some colors she does not have. Well maybe only one - white, but only because she does not like how it looks on nails. On this outfit we can see Luna's favorite color, sea green. "Whenever I’m wearing it I look happy." Actually   the color is the element that unites all the components of this look. Luna bought both the sea green tights and the dress with the sea green eyed cat from H&M. Despite Luna's willingness to try out nearly anything, there are still some things she would never even consider wearing. Such is the case when people combine flip flops and socks, which Luna considers to be extremely tacky. Another thing that she dislikes is animal print and fur. She is not really a vegetarian, however, she considers wearing fur inhumane. On the other hand, Luna is a big fan of man's wear. Along with Luna's passion for crazy nail polish, her craving for wacky lipstick comes naturally. The two craziest colors that she owns are black and blue. Black is by far her favorite which is why she really regrets that she forgot it at home. Comfortable is another aspect of clothes that Luna cherishes the most. These soles may look high, but our brave Luna could walk in them all day long. The thing that makes this outfit special are the tights. "Those tights I have been wanting forever. Then for Christmas my best friend got me the tights cause they are really expensive. I normally would not spend so much money on them." I think even if Luna's friend had not gotten them for her, she would have bought them anyway. After all, they feature real photographs, property of NASA. In general, Luna is a skirts person. She is not a huge fan of wearing pants. She has a few pairs of jeans but she usually prefers corduroy pants because they are more comfortable. "If I could just wear skirts and dresses all the time I would be extremely happy." Luna started treating clothes as a tool for self expression back in her junior high. It is hard to believe it now, but before that she used to wear plain jeans with simple shirts, and did not like to stand out from the crowd. "I started listening to indie music and so I started dressing like my favorite artists." Besides the music she listens to, Luna also gets her inspiration from her Look Book account where she follows people whose style she likes. "I would go and check their Look Books and see what they've been wearing. A lot of times that inspires me." This particular outfit is built so that the colorful shirt bought by Luna from Old Navy can stand out and can be better appreciated. "I saw it and I thought I have never seen a shirt like this so I had to buy it," Luna said.   Luna is not the typical shopaholic and does not like to spend many hours at the mall. She laughed when she said that even her ex-boyfriend was amazed to find out that he had more clothes than her. "Normally, I am looking for something specific. I’ll go if I want to buy a nice dress for a formal or something . But I do like to look for specific items that are unique more than anything else." In terms of accessories, Luna used to wear a lot of earrings but she does not do it so often lately. "Sometimes I would take them off 40 min after I put them cause they annoy me." She really likes rings, but she has the bad tendency to loose them all the time. Perhaps some of you are still wondering why Luna came here in the first place. The truth is she applied to a lot of places, especially to those which she knew least about. Bulgaria, however, was her first choice. She wanted to go somewhere in Europe and she was already hooked on Balkan music, so the decision came easily. So far, she really enjoys her exchange experience in Bulgaria and in AUBG in particular, and she has even been thinking of transferring here. "You guys don’t realize how special this school really is. It is so different from my home university. It’s just people here care a lot about the things that they’re involved in." In Luna's opinion, AUBG is a very diverse school which has a lot to offer to its students.
