As the tradition in AUBG  goes, the week between Feb. 16 and Feb. 21 will be dedicated to diversity and international culture. Phi Beta Delta Honor Society  once again organizes the annual 6-days-long event of International Week Established in 2000, the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society is an organization at AUBG in which students do not apply for membership, but actually get invited by the International Student Services Office of the University. The members of the society are both students and faculty, who work together on the campus events which promote international spirit and diversity. The requirements to be selected for the organization include: active participation in the social life of the University and also contribution to the promotion of AUBG on international level. 10922880_559183970850689_5483716107703820793_nInternational Week will start on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in BAC Auditorium with country presentations by both students and faculty members. The topic of the event is "Stereotypes About My Home Country." Most of the student’s presentations will be lead by ERASMUS and exchange students, who are very excited to share what is true and what is not about the countries in which they were born. The second event of the week will be a movie marathon, which will happen on Tuesday. The selection of the movies will include only Balkan films, which would be screened at the same time in different rooms in BAC. After the end of the screenings the audience will be invited to gather in the BAC Auditorium to watch one last movie to conclude the topic of Balkan cinema. On Wednesday,  AUBGers can participate in a quiz night, called “Jeopardy.”  The game will take place in BAC Auditorium, where students and professor will gather in teams.  Each team will answer different types of questions on topics related not only to countries, but to all spheres of life and education. 14069_559183964184023_2574329045920770322_nOn the fourth day of the initiative, the traditional show "AUBG's Got Talent" will take place in the ABF Theatre. Ten to 15 students from AUBG have decided to participate and to perform their secret talents. The public will decide who showed the best talent. This year the event will be hosted by AUBG Associate Professor Diego Lucci. On Friday, the ABF Student Center will host a Panel Discussion in room 6306, at 7:30 p.m. The topic of the event is "Culture Shock: Real Life Experiences and Recipes for Overcoming It." AUBG professors and students will share experience and advice about coping with stress and shock which come when one enters the life of a different culture. Xhulia Rami, President of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society, shared that two of the participants in the discussion will be professors Lynette and Mark Leonard, who are going to talk about how they have overcome cultural shock and have integrated in an entirely new society. 10968374_559183980850688_1101090614142734714_nThe closing night of the International Week will be celebrated with the annual Taste Fest, which has proven to be one of the most popular events of the week with hundreds of students attending.  The event will take place in the Sports Hall, where students and faculty members will present traditional food from their home countries.
