Her Own Kind of Beauty
Meet Angelina Daskalova, a 20-year-old second-year student born in Russia and raised in Plovdiv. She is majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication and Business Administration. Angelina is involved in a lot extracurricular activities at AUBG – she is part of the Documentary club, Infocus, as well as PTPI “Better Community Club”.
Angelina is also a part-time blogger (http://angelinnad.com), where she posts about her biggest passions – fashion and traveling. Apart from blogging, she is also interested in entrepreneurship. In fact, she recently started working on her own business idea, which takes most of her time.
She is also a passionate supporter of animal rights. “First I became a vegetarian for all the ethical reasons and I became a vegan for all that, too,” she said, “I feel that I contribute to the environment in a way. I also saw some additional benefits – my skin cleared out. In my daily life I don’t even think about it and I don’t feel that I am giving up something.”
Angelina sees herself as a follower of fashion trends but she also has her own unique style that stands out. Her style is rather casual and basic. She does not usually dress up but rather prefers wearing T-shirts, her favorite pair of Adidas, and a hat. “There are some days, though, that I really want to look way more girly than others, ” she added.
Angelina’s favorite accessories are chokers. In fact, she considers them as her personal trademark. “I remember when I was a little kid, when chokers were a trend I used to wear one every single day,” she explained. Now, she has around six or seven of them from Forever 21, Stradivarius, and a random store in Greece.
She gets inspiration from bloggers and from Instagram. Angelina’s biggest fashion inspiration is Negin, a blogger from the Netherlands. “Her daily style is I guess is very common to mine. She doesn’t wear a lot of colors, I don’t wear a lot as well – you won’t see a lot of bright colors in my wardrobe,” Angelina said.
Angelina’s dorm room is neat and stylish. She has decorated her desk with a white jewelry porcelain plate, rose gold elements, as well as a DIY printed calendar and frames with inspirational images.
In terms of her closet, some of the treasures she considers within it are her leather jacket and collection of black pants. “I cannot live without black pants whether they are ripped or leather or just simple black jeans,” she said. Some of her must fashion elements for the fall-winter season are also sweaters in neutral colors – gray, black, and brownish.
She doesn’t have any clothes that are never worn in her wardrobe. “When I was little I used to buy tons of unnecessary things that I didn’t wear and I got rid of this habit very recently. I am so happy about that because I have only things that I wear a lot and my mom is really proud with me,” Angelina explained.
