Last semester, several Google representatives visited AUBG and gave a general company presentation. Apart from that they also organized a workshop called "Personal Branding Session," which included tips on CV and resume writing. After the workshop, the organizers collected the emails of the participating students; over the summer they got an email inviting them to apply for the Google Student Ambassador Program. For the first round of applications they had to fill out a form. The second round consisted of yet another form, but also a short video between 30 and 90 seconds that students had to record, explaining why they would like to be Google Ambassadors. Stoil Stoilov was one of the selected few and the only one representing AUBG. "As an ambassador, I organize fun events on campus and I try to raise awareness about Google products that improve students' lives. For example, I will be organizing a workshop on organization and time management, using free Google tools. I act as a liaison between Google and AUBG. So if someone from AUBG wants to contact Google, I can help them, and vice versa. I also know a lot about Google internships, programs and scholarships, so students who are interested in any of those can talk to me," Stoilov said. All of the selected ambassadors, who were in Europe at the time, had the opportunity to attend the Google Student Ambassador Summit in Dublin from Aug. 21 to Aug. 24. “We visited some Google offices that had prepared  interesting presentations for us on Google’s products and about how we can organize events; how we can work with Googlers,” said Stoilov. As Stoilov elaborates: “It was very interesting because we got to actually talk to the people who make the products; we got to talk to interns, to engineers who are really working on the products that we use every day”. He still regularly communicates with Google especially now that Google plans to visit AUBG again. This year the Google representatives are going to have a company presentation and two workshops. The first event will be the "Google Business Challenge", which  will help students understand the life of a Google Account Manager through a case study. The second workshop  is called "Creative Skills for Innovation" that will help students learn how to achieve success through their unique ideas. “ All workshops are really interesting because you get to actually communicate face to face with Googlers; they have a unique perspective just because of the culture of Google as an organization. Also, you get to establish contacts with the company, and that’s how I got selected as an ambassador,” said Stoilov. Google typically chooses one person per university, except for the big institutions, such as Oxford, Cambridge, etc. Anyone who is interested in attending the presentation and the workshops is welcome to do so. However, this year it is going to be more business oriented. According to Stoilov, students who are interested in internships and jobs during the summer or after  graduation should definitely attend the events, regardless of their majors.
