The AUBG Dance Crew put on their first dancing show “Street Motion” on April 26 in the Dr. Carl Djerassi Theater Hall. The show combined acting and dancing and it told the story of a girl with a long forgotten love for dancing.
Amber, a rich girl trying to get into her dream school Carol Hampton Contemporary Dance School, and Michael, a street dance performer were the center of the story. Amber was played by Veronika Shishova, a second-year AUBG student, and Michael - by Thomas Naglis, a fourth-year student. According to the Vice-President of the club, Tanya Ten, the biggest pressure was put on the main characters because they were in almost all of the dances and had an acting part as well.

Amber and Michael meet in the club where Michael and his friends dance. Although the two characters are so different, they eventually fall in love. However, Amber’s father, Bruce Adams, a wealthy businessman, has other plans for his daughter and tries to tear her apart from Michael. He was played by Omari Lomiashvili, a third-year student.
The plot becomes more complicated when Michael and his friends are unable to pay the rent of the place they use for practice. Amber’s father decides to buy the place, so that he can send his daughter to a business school. At the same time, Michael finds an advert of a dance competition in which the winner gets a million dollars.
As the story unfolds, Amber’s father changes his plans after seeing her emotional dance with Michael. After facing and overcoming numerous obstacles, the two characters eventually find their way back to each other.

Ten said that the Dance Crew had been planning the show for a long time. They started thinking about it during the Fall 2016 Semester when the ex-president, Malick Sarr, was still in the crew. The dancers went step by step in creating the story. Ten said that the actual preparation for the dances, the acting, and the settings started in February. The biggest inspiration for the show came from the Step Up movies.
According to Ten, the last month before the show was very intense as the crew practiced every day early in the morning and late at night. The little things that had to be finished before the show itself, such as buying the costumes and setting the make-up, added to the tension the dancers experienced.
The performance was well prepared according to Uendi Kaçorri, a second-year student, who said "you could see the devotion and all the hard work of the crew."

Polina Marinova, a first-year student, has been part of the Dance Crew for a year now. She said she trained really hard to give her best to the crew. She and the other dancers became closer, “especially when [they] had to train for over three hours to prepare for the show.”
“I think we pulled out a great show for such a short period of time and can’t wait for the next year,” Ten said.
The show exceeded the expectations of Vladislav Georgiev, a first-year student, who said "I had never been to another Dance Crew performance before, but I was pretty amazed by this one."
