Fancy Footwork and a Flavorful Feast
International Week 2015 ended brightly and colorfully with Taste Fest on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the ABF Sports Hall.
Students had a chance to listen to diverse music, try out national cuisine, and join in for energetic dances. What else could make the gloomy Sports Hall so colorful if not the Taste Fest?
AUBG students Gligor Tasev and Natalija Gjergjeva, from Macedonia, went through a thorough preparation for the event. “We cooked all day. We started at nine o’clock and it took us nine hours,” Gjergjeva said. “For the decorations, we printed them in advance,” Tasev added. “We bought the napkins in the colors of our flag.”
Exchange students from Spain attracted attention not only with paella and tortilla, but with a flag saying “Spain Is Different.” “[It] is our national touristic slogan,” Roberto Herranz, an exchange student, said.
The Taste Fest proved to be a culmination of a week devoted to cultural diversity at AUBG yet again. Traditional food, costumes and dances of 19 different countries are captured in the photostory prepared for you by AUBG Daily.
