In one way or another that was accomplished and throughout the entire ASA there were students guarding the doors, so as not to let people out of the Auditorium. Discussions began soon after. The Anti – Stalker Initiative

Gergana Georgieva, part of the Library staff and AUBG graduate, is initiating a new campaign to raise the awareness about a form of harassment that is very much overlooked by both Bulgarian law enforcement and prosecution. For lack of a better term we will refer to it as “stalking”. Geri is part of an organization founded by another AUBG graduate, Radostin Djeliov, called Blago Consulting Group Ltd. Their initiative is the first that addresses this issue in Bulgaria.
“Stalking” is a broad term that refers to a combination of ongoing behaviors. It combines the physical action of actually following someone around, taking pictures, sending unwanted gifts, calling on the phone not just the victim, but doing the same to people close to him/her as well. It is hard to define, investigate and therefore hard to prosecute, but often leads to more serious crimes later on. There are laws in the US and many European countries that recognize stalking as a big issue and have acted accordingly, installing the appropriate mechanisms to fight it. In the US, 3.4 million people fall victims to stalking a year, according to the National Center for Victims of Crime’s stalker information resource. Continue reading…
Read more...The Creep

He is one of those people that are being easily noticed because of their weirdness. To the common eye, he is “that shady werewolf man that floats around Skapto 1”, but when he is at his best, he is “Paperface” or “The Creep”. These are stage names he goes by when exercising his talent – playing the guitar.
“V”, as he would like to be known when he’s not performing, came here as an ELI student from the US, although he is originally from Armenia. He makes his own music and he has a number of solo albums in the style of what he calls “psycho metal”. His newest project is being recorded right now from his room here in AUBG. Continue reading…
