AUBG Got DJ Talent
AUBG third-year student Boris Marinov had his first party as a DJ this Wednesday in a central club in Blagoevgrad. The party turned out to be a success among the university community, as students filled the whole club in no time. We met DJ Borchi, this being his artistic nickname, right after the party. Here is what he shared with us:
Q: You did quite well tonight, can you tell me when this passion of yours started?
First of all I want to thank everybody for coming this Wednesday and I am hoping that we can make this new club our place to chill and hangout. I have always had a passion for music, because music is my life. No matter what I do or what happens to me I can always associate it with music. DJ-ing has been a lifetime dream for me, in other words – a dream life. I just adore parties and making people happy. Fortunately, DJs incorporate those two things and I am hoping I will keep doing this even for the rest of my life.
Q: When was your first DJ performance and how did it happen?
My first DJ performance I would say was at a wedding when I was 11th grade in high school. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but I believe people know me better by the parties that I did in Provincetown, MA in the summer of 2013. We were on a Work and Travel program and few friends and I proposed to a popular bar in P-town to make Balkan Parties every Tuesday. Well, the magic happened and the rest is well known I believe.
I personally had a lot of fun. Seeing you guys having fun, dancing, singing to almost every song that I played was the best feeling ever. I really liked the club and the owners who helped us with everything we needed to make this party great, so I would like to thank them for making this happen.
Q: How and when did you come up with the idea of this party? Who helped you and how?
Actually, a very good friend of mine Temenuzhka Panayotova came up with the idea for the party. In the first moment when she told me, I felt like I was dreaming. She addressed me and said that she had spoken to the owners of the club and that they want to make the regular Wednesday night – an AUBG night and asked me to be the DJ. I accepted her offer even before knew it.
Q: Anything else you would like to share with us?
I am really thankful that the whole idea for the party came true and I really hope that we will continue with our crazy nights in the future. Big thank you to the AUBG community and the organizers at the new Blagoevgrad club for making this happen.
It is currently unknown when DJ Borchi’s next party will be, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on it, and will be updating you accordingly.
