AUBG Gathers a Record Number of Companies at Job Fair 2016
“Perfect organization” and “great candidates” were the statements of several of the companies participating in the annual AUBG Job Fair 2016. Organized by the Career Center, it took place in the America for Bulgaria Student Center on Wednesday, April 6 and had a record number of companies participating.
The Job Fair 2016 started with AUBG President Stratsi Kulinski’s opening speech in which he addressed both the participating companies and the AUBG students and wished them good luck. One of the organizers of the event, Ivailo Aksharov, also greeted the participants.
Among the 56 companies that took part were Deloitte, Mondelez, Raiffesienbank, Hewlett Packard, Google, Telerik, Coca-Cola, Metro, and many more. Centroida, the newly-found company by AUBG students, also participated in the event.
One of the representatives of Transmetrics said that she has already been on several other job fairs in Bulgaria, but in her opinion the AUBG Job Fair was organized better.
The representatives of Cibank said that this was the first time they have participated in the event but that they are “positively impressed.” According to them, the students were very well prepared as they brought their CVs, knew what questions to ask, and were very polite.
Margita Kolcheva, a fourth-year student, said, “As a senior who was attending the job fair for the first time, I was impressed with the number of companies represented during the event.”
Kolcheva also said, “There was even a company which made the effort to research the AUBG Resume book in advance and the representatives knew the people they were expecting to meet during the day.”
As for the representatives of HEC, the event was a bit of a “know-how.” They said that they were surprised that most of the students were looking for internships. As they offer only permanent positions for the time being, they said they would keep this in mind for future events.
