AUBG Daily’s New Website
Advertorial
A modernized website is months away from becoming the new home to AUBG Daily’s news stories. The product of a year-long collaboration between our publishing team, The Hub, and Documaster, the project will bring the new platform to use in June 2018 with the final migration of our entire online content archive that includes over 1000 articles. The redesigned platform will also adopt a re-brand to the club’s white and orange colors and a slick layout of displaying each news piece.
Some of the additional features will include an upgrade of the WordPress content management system, a protective algorithm against copying publications, a simplified navigation bar, an Adblock prevention mechanism, and the use of the Facebook Instant Articles mobile for quicker access to our materials. The timelined project is currently in its second month of front-end and back-end developing for both desktop screens and mobile devices.
Four second-year AUBG students, Alex Mishev, Dimitar Kirilov, Nikola Lazarov, and Elian Konedarev from the Hub, are currently part-taking in the software development, code writing, and graphic designing process for the prototype platform. Their peers are experienced mentors and project facilitators from Documaster, an innovative 2014 Norwegian tech startup with consulting experience in data management and digitalization.

Dimitar Kumanov, the Project Manager and a fourth-year AUBG student, is the communication facilitator between the developers, mentors and AUBG Daily. He related to our medium’s demand for an improved website functionality and the opportunity for undertaking real-time projects.
„For the experience that they have they are doing a great job,“ shared Kumanov on the work success of the four developers. “What is working for now is that we have so many people [involved] in so many different places which creates the atmosphere of seriousness,” said Kumanov. He also emphasized on the little experience and the “lot of unknowns” for the four developers in the process of creating the new platform.
Currently, the team works on adding plugins, code adjustments, and touch-up work on the overall design and layout. The website will be officially put to publishing use in the beginning of the Fall 2018 semester in place of the original six-year old existing one.
