Highlights: Former Prime-Minister Ivan Kostov in AUBG

The first event organized by the AUBG Club of Political Science gathered an enthusiastic group of students and professors, willing to hear the lecture of Bulgaria’s former Prime Minister Ivan Kostov.
The topic of the discussion was the infamous so called ”transition period” in Bulgaria and its political and cultural repercussions. To most Bulgarian residents the transition is still in progress and there are no noticeable signs it will terminate any time soon. However, in Mr. Kostov’s opinion: ”the transition period in Bulgaria ended back in 1991.” He further explained that this was the point where all legal and political decisions were made to turn Bulgaria into a democratic state and allow it to develop its own free-market economy.
